In the heart of Cyprus — an island rich in history and cultural diversity — lies the Maronite parish in Paphos. Its roots run deep, reaching back to the days when the Apostles Paul and Barnabas walked this land proclaiming the teachings of Christ. Throughout the centuries, this parish has witnessed countless transformations, from the era when ancient Phoenicians founded the first great cities here, to modern times when Maronites from Lebanon sought refuge from persecution. Each age has shaped this land, leaving its mark on the hearts and souls of its people.
Our parish in Paphos, though numbering only five hundred souls, reflects a multilayered cultural and spiritual mosaic that has been continually tested throughout the ages. It endured despite many hardships, including the tragic days of the Turkish invasion in 1974, which left a lasting wound in the community’s memory. The faithful who form our parish today came from various corners of the Middle East, bringing with them diverse Catholic traditions — each one telling a unique story of struggle and hope.
Faced with new challenges, such as the recent influx of immigrants from Lebanon after the devastating explosions in Beirut, our parish is undergoing a transformation. It is no longer merely a shelter from the storms of history, but is becoming a center of spiritual support — a place that offers not only refuge but also hope. We organize Holy Masses in rented chapels, assist newcomers in integrating, and provide material aid to those brought to the edge of endurance. All this we do so that our parish may be not only a place of worship but a home for those who have lost their own.
How Can You Help?
Our mission and our works are possible only thanks to the generosity of people of good heart — people like you. Your support may take many forms: prayer, volunteer service, or financial contributions. Every form of help is precious and allows us to continue our mission in Paphos.
We encourage you to open your heart and become part of the hope that has shaped our community over the centuries. Together, we can build a future in which every person finds a place, regardless of their history or origin.
Join us today and become a ray of light on the path of those who need it most. Your support is a sign of hope for us — a hope that will enable the survival and growth of our parish. Be the kindness that changes the world.

Pismo od Parafii
By loving and serving our neighbours, we live out both commandments. By helping God’s beloved children, we show love to Him. When we serve our family, our neighbours, even our enemies, our love for them grows. The Bible teaches us how to serve others, follow Jesus, and find joy.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who are involved in this work for their generosity and love!
The Maronite Missionary Foundation intends to continue and expand its activities using the funds collected, support its partners, and collaborate with local organizations. We invite you to join our charitable action and help us bring hope and joy to those most in need in Lebanon. We thank you for every expression of kindness and compassion. We pray that God may bless and reward all who help alleviate the suffering of others, especially through material and financial aid.
